How B2B Commerce and B2C Commerce are different:

Business 2 Consumer and Business 2 Business are the two-major ecommerce business process usually known to most of the people. Checkout process look like same for both, but b2b is more complex compared to b2c. Following are the some of the points which help us to understand how these business process different from each other.


Business 2 Consumer:

1. In this business process products are sold to consumers directly.

2. Buying decision is done by user or individual user.

3. Small or medium size orders will be placed

4. All the product brought in B2C portal for all the customer will have fixed or same price.

5. On time applicable Promotion, Discount, Coupons will be there

6. Payment for the products purchased either will be paid online (credit card, debit card, net banking) or by cash when customer receives the product (cash on delivery).

7. For order fulfillment logistics and courier will be default or selected by seller.


Business 2 Business:

1. In this business process products will be sold from seller to other business user.

2. Buying decision is done by a specific person or group of authorized persons.

3. Very larger size orders will be placed.

4. Prices for products various depending on the contract

5. Discount will be provided based on the contract and its repetitive

6. User will not make payment at the time of the placing order, instead receive an invoice which they have to settle within the agreed payment terms.

7. Based on contract or agreement products will be delivery through an agreed logistics channel.


Customer 2 Customer:

This is we can say a simple process where the online portal is just act as mediator for 2 customers, one customer wants to sell, and another wants to buy. Now how they will make payment, whether it will be delivered by selling customer or picked up by buying customer may vary.
